Back to School is just around the corner! I just can not subject my children to the school lunch program. I understand the cost effectiveness for those that receive reduced and free meals but the lack of quality and the high cost for most is enough to have us packing lunches for the whole family. My husband works days and is in a patrol car most of the time (he is a Military Police Officer) and the cost of eating out everyday is very expensive especially in Alaska. I am a stay at home mom with a busy schedule and find that it is nice to also plan and make my lunch in advance with the rest of the family. So after dinner during the school year we like to make our lunches and clean the kitchen. My youngest is 6 and is able to make most of his own lunch now and is learning to read. So today my project was to make a Sack Lunch Guide for the family. This allows me visually see what the options are and stock those items and allows them to help me budget by laying out what and how much of each category they can have.
