I found a great tutorial for making these fab coasters. I made several and have them everywhere around the house. I use upholstery fabric so they are nice and sturdy and feel and look high end luxurious. Unfortunately I can not find the link to the tutorial. I started with 4.5 in squares I ironed on 4 inch squares in double sided interfacing to the wrong side of one square then sewed a 1/4 in seam around leaving just an inch open. I pulled them right side out and tucked under the opening and closed it to look line one continuous seam around the coaster. I pressed it again on both sides to set the stitches and to set the interfacing. I use a very thin interfacing just to help hold the shape. They work great and I am not wiping up wet tables constantly.
