Projects in the works

I have a few projects in the works.

I have started cutting and sewing a table runner. If it turns out well I will make coordinating place-mats. I found a great little laminated pattern card for $3.50 with easy to follow instructions. (So far at least) You can see a sample of this on the left

I have also started a tree skirt and christmas stocking set from some fabric that my grandmother has had since I was a child. I was given the fabric that I have asked for since I was 6 years old when my grandmother passed away. I have never had the nerve to cut it and make something with it until now 7 years later. It was so special to her, it is from India. This way I figure she will be part of my Christmas celebration every year from here out. I will be using black velvet as my coordinating fabric.

Lastly my first quilt ever. I am at the point where it needs to be pinned together. I will be using the floor at my church once the women's group starts back up in August. I have wood floors and do not want to damage it with the pins.

  1. Hi Mechelle! Thanks for the comment on my blog! We are visiting family in Fairbanks and are making a quick trip down to Kenai to see friends this weekend. Too quick of a trip, but what a small world! It isn't that often that you hear of folks from Alaska. We lived in Kodiak for 4 years before being transferred to Ohio. My husband's family is still in the Fairbanks, Eagle area (Yukon). Fun times! Take care!!

Oh, and your quilt top turned out fantastic! I wish I could quilt. I've tried, and it never turns out even and precise. I think I don't have the patience for the art...yet. :)
