I found a valance panel dirt cheap at Fred Meyers it was under $3.00. I did not however like the shape for the small kitchen window that I have. I have horrible lighting in my kitchen so the valance hanging down at that point would cover half the window and block the light. So I reshaped the panel to be a straight edged panel and then used the extra fabric to make a menu board that coordinated. The fabric is a bit dark for the menu board usage but I am going to look for a erasable marker that will show better over the fabric. But for now it at least gives it some balance and coordinates the colors in the kitchen.
digging the menu board idea... I hate being asked repeatedly "what's for dinner?"... of course my kids can't read, so...
ReplyDeleteLOL.. it helps me to know what I am making and stick to the plan so I use what I purchase for the planned meals and save trips to the store... thus saving $$.
