Fimo Fruit Hair Pins

I had some fimo fruit nail art floating around in my nail supply box and I had an idea of how to use it for hair clips. I got lucky and it worked great. This is an easy project that takes less than an hour to make and a couple hours to dry completely.

I used two standard bobby pins and put them on a piece of card stock to hold them in place.

I then used fingernail polish to put some color on the top of the bobby pin.

While the polish was still tacky I took the fimo fruit pieces and put a small dot of diamond finish on the back of them and attached them to the bobby pin. I spaced them apart and put the same fruit pieces in the same spots along the bobby pin. I added several more pieces in a semi layered effect. You can see by the photo how I positioned them.

Once I had all the fruit pieces on I added a few rhinestone also from my nail art box, again using the diamond glaze. You only need a very small amount to get them on the bobby pin.

Once I had the fruit and rhinestones in place I put a good layer of diamond glaze over the fruit. I used a sewing pin to spread it to the edges of the fruit. You can see in the photo that it is a pretty thick layer.

It took about an hour or so to dry under the ceiling fan. My daughter wore them the next day to school.

We think they turned out so cute. Hope you give this a try it was very easy and did not take much time.
