Well I may be to late for those that had their Trunk n' Treats this year, and right on time for someone planning last minute for tomorrow. We had a Trunk n' Treat tonight at our church and it was a great success. There were carnival games inside with snacks and drinks and a line of cars to Trunk n' Treat in the parking lot. Some of my favorite themes were
Camp Out... this one is my most favorite because there is snow on the ground and it was cold! They had a fire pit with fire to keep warm. They put up a sun shade type tent over the back end of their truck and laid out sleeping bags used other props like a cooler, and a big water jug, fishing poles, and the fixings for smores. They put some chairs around the fire and instead of candy they handed out mini bags of microwave pop corn. I want to do this one. The fire was the best and they kept it small enough so that they could burn it out while we packed up. Everyone loved having a fire to keep warm. The church also parked the hot coffee next to them so it was the place to get warm!
I also loved the foot ball idea. There was a truck that did a Alabama Fans Theme that gave me some good ideas to play off. I would go tailgate with a bbq going to keep warm also I could grill some dogs! All sorts of super bowl party favors would be cheap to get after super bowl and store in a halloween box. Wearing jerseys and putting on the face paint and waiving number 1 foam fingers.
This is my first time going to a Trunk n' Treat so I took it all in for next year. Some other great ideas are:
Movie Themes: Dress up like the characters of a movie and decorate the car as a scene from that movie.
Games: Video or Board Games. This could be anything from Candy Land to Gears of War.
Cartoons were also big, there was a sesame street theme and veggie tales.
We had a blast. I forgot to take photos. I will try to get some from friends and get them posted.
And Here they are. Some of my Favorites. Alaska Mountain Men (this is normal dress for them but the kids think its a cool costume)
